About This Project
A SaaS company was outgrowing its on-premise hardware, so this engagement re-platformed its monolithic application onto AWS as containerized microservices. The entire environment is defined in Terraform, and deployments run through CI/CD pipelines instead of manual release rituals. A Prometheus and Grafana stack gives the team metrics, logs, and alerts across every service. The migration ran service by service, with traffic shifted gradually and rollback points at each cutover.
The Engineering Problem
Live SaaS migrations have no maintenance-window luxury: the product must keep serving customers while its foundation is replaced underneath it, and every step needs a way back.

- •Manual, multi-day deployment rituals had to become repeatable pipelines
- •No disaster-recovery posture existed; backup and restore paths had to be designed from zero
- •Cloud spend needed guardrails from day one, not as an afterthought
Technical Approach
We carved the monolith along its natural seams, moved each service behind a strangler-fig routing layer, and made the infrastructure itself reviewable code before the first workload moved.
- Extracted services incrementally onto AWS ECS behind a routing layer that shifted traffic gradually
- Defined every environment in Terraform modules: reviewable, repeatable, and rebuildable
- Built CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitLab with automated rollback on failed health checks
- Designed multi-region backup and restore around a one-hour RPO target
- Instrumented every service with Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards from first deploy
